ghostbusters-frozen-empire-wraps-up-reshoots-in-atlanta

The Ghostbusters franchise is back with a vengeance, and we’re not just talking about the vengeful spirits that haunt New York City. The upcoming sequel, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, has just completed some additional filming in Atlanta, Georgia, with a star-studded cast that includes both old and new faces.

The reshoots were confirmed by Mckenna Grace, who plays Phoebe Spengler, the granddaughter of the late Egon Spengler. She posted a photo of the iconic Ecto-1 on her Instagram Stories, with the caption “Don’t think I’ll ever get used to this.” We don’t blame her, that car is a legend.

Grace was joined by Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Celeste O’Connor, Annie Potts, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Emily Alyn Lind, among others, for the reshoots, which took place in various locations around Atlanta. The film’s director, Gil Kenan, and producer, Jason Reitman, were also on set, overseeing the final touches.

The reshoots are said to be minor and won’t affect the film’s release date, which is set for March 29th, 2024. The film was originally scheduled to hit theaters this month, but was pushed back due to the SAG-AFTRA strike that was recently resolved.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will follow the Spengler family as they return to the firehouse where it all began, and team up with the original Ghostbusters to stop an ancient evil from unleashing a second Ice Age. Sounds like a cool premise, literally.

We can’t wait to see the first full trailer, which should drop soon. In the meantime, we’ll keep our proton packs ready for some ghostbusting action.
