International sales agent Mockingbird Pictures is introducing the upcoming Vietnamese supernatural horror film "Bloodline: The Curse Within" to global buyers at the Asian Contents & Film Market, held alongside the Busan International Film Festival. The distributor controls global rights for the feature, which is scheduled to premiere across theaters in Vietnam on December 25.

A Clash of Modern Medicine and Ancient Supernatural Curses
Directed by Đinh Đức Thiện and produced by K8 Studio alongside Hoàng Gia, the film is known domestically under the title "Huyết Thống." The narrative focuses on an acclaimed pediatric heart surgeon who finds his family in jeopardy when his daughter becomes the target of a vengeful spirit.

Faced with a sinister affliction that modern medical science cannot remedy, the physician is forced to confront unresolved transgressions from his own past. According to the production details, the spirit tormenting his daughter is deeply tied to the secrets he previously tried to bury.
Director Đinh Đức Thiện noted that the project explores deeper emotional and philosophical themes beyond conventional scares. He explained that his primary creative interest was contrasting medical science with spiritual beliefs, examining the extreme personal sacrifices parents are willing to make when their loved ones face danger.
Genre Veterans Anchor the Ensemble Cast
The horror title is headlined by award-winning actor Quách Ngọc Ngoan. The performer previously gained attention for his central performance in Victor Vu's "The Immortal" ("Người Bất Tử") and recently appeared in "The Journey of Heroes" ("Trại Buôn Người").
Ngoan is joined on screen by Quang Tuấn, recognized as a recurring star in Vietnamese genre cinema through "The Corpse" franchise. Also featured in the cast is Lan Phương, who recently appeared in "Phi Phong: The Blood Demon," which stands as the highest-grossing Vietnamese horror film to date.
Hoàng Gia, who co-produced the project and previously steered development on "The Corpse 2" ("Quỷ Nhập Tràng 2"), stated that the production team sought to balance frightening genre set-pieces with relatable personal themes, centering the narrative around family bonds, inherited bloodlines, and intergenerational consequences.
Mockingbird Pictures Expands Regional Cinema Reach
Mockingbird Pictures is showcasing "Bloodline: The Curse Within" as part of its newly unveiled slate of Vietnamese releases at ACFM in Busan. Phong Duong, business director at Mockingbird, also serves as a co-executive producer on the horror production.
Duong stated that contemporary genre audiences expect rigorous quality across visual storytelling and technical craft rather than reliance on a catchy premise alone. He pointed to the film's narrative ambition and production standards as representative of the regional cinema the company aims to elevate globally.
Mockingbird Pictures regularly works to position films from Vietnam and Southeast Asia in international markets. The company manages over 60 theatrical distributions annually alongside more than 100 post-theatrical window releases, spanning horror, action, comedy, and romance formats.
Following its international market presentation at the Busan film market, "Bloodline: The Curse Within" will move toward its domestic theatrical rollout in Vietnam this winter.
