Vietnamese production and distribution outfit Bee Entertainment is making a major commercial push at the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan, unveiling an ambitious project lineup that includes four theatrical feature films and three long-form television series. The company's market presentation comes as Vietnam's domestic film industry experiences historic box-office growth, with local releases collectively generating more than VND3 trillion ($114 million) in 2025 and outpacing foreign releases at the local box office for the very first time.

Looking to convert that domestic momentum into international reach, Bee Entertainment is using its presence at the ACFM industry hub to pursue foreign distribution agreements, co-development opportunities, project investment, and content licensing deals across global territories.

'Arithmadtic' Sets the Stage for Psychological Horror
Leading the company's film package is "Arithmadtic," known locally in Vietnamese as "Cong Tru Nhan Chia." Framed within a Dark Academia aesthetic, the psychological horror movie unfolds inside the walls of an elite international school. The narrative tracks an enigmatic connection between a newly arrived transfer student and a teacher, which quickly coincides with a series of bizarre, supernatural occurrences that threaten the academy's prestigious exterior.
The feature is directed by Irving Ly, whose short film "Close the Eye to See" secured a Silver Kite at Vietnam's 2025 Golden Kite Awards and screened at international events such as BFI Flare and the Korea Queer Film Festival. "Arithmadtic" boasts an experienced ensemble cast led by Anh Thu ("Muoi: The Legend of a Portrait") and Lam Thanh My ("Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass").
The cast also features Phuong Tra My, recognized for her lead performance in the award-winning drama "The Third Wife," alongside Chu Anh Tuan, Cong Ninh, Hoang Minh Hung, and Dac Thang. "Arithmadtic" is scheduled to reach theaters in January 2027.
Expanding the 2027 Theatrical Slate
Following "Arithmadtic," Bee Entertainment has dated three other feature films across 2027, covering a diverse spectrum of cinematic genres.
Arriving in the second quarter of 2027 is "The Step-Mother," directed by Tran Nhan Kien. Kien, an alumnus of the Asian Film School who previously participated in the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival's B.I.G NAFF Fantastic Film School, directs the drama about a grieving boy coming to terms with the loss of his father. The storyline explores the friction between the boy and his stepmother, examining how their turbulent dynamic evolves into an ambiguous balance between discipline and maternal care.
The third quarter will see the release of "How to Find a Fortune in 60 Days," helmed by Pom Nguyen. Nguyen previously directed "The Corpse" franchise, whose initial two theatrical entries accumulated more than VND280 billion ($10.7 million) in combined ticket sales. His upcoming venture blends action, comedy, and family drama.
Bee Entertainment's feature slate concludes in the fourth quarter of 2027 with "Dealing With a Ghost," a romantic comedy with horror elements directed by Le Ha Nguyen.
Television Dramas and Corporate Expansion
In addition to its upcoming cinematic rollouts, Bee Entertainment brought three major television series to the Busan market. Headlining the small-screen slate is "The Unrecognized Heir," an 80-episode family drama directed by Trac Huynh Nhat Tan. The show launched on Vietnamese network VTV9 in December 2025 and has accumulated 1 billion views across various social media platforms, according to metrics shared by the company.
Trac is also behind "Destined to Find You," an 80-episode romantic television project currently in post-production. Complementing these long-form programs is "A Deal With God," a 65-episode series directed by Dang Minh Quoc that blends fantasy elements with family-oriented comedy and drama.
Bee Entertainment operates as a film-focused subsidiary of Bee Comm, a company founded in 2009. The parent organization maintains a high-profile media footprint in Vietnam, producing the domestic franchise edition of the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" as well as the community-focused program "Mai Am Gia Dinh Viet" ("The Vietnamese Family Shelter").
As the Asian Contents & Film Market proceeds alongside the 31st Busan International Film Festival, Bee Entertainment continues its international sales push, presenting its horror, drama, and comedy properties to global distributors ahead of their planned rollouts across 2027.
