Reinvent Yellow Sales has bolstered its international distribution catalog ahead of Mipcom by boarding two major Nordic crime series: SkyShowtime's Swedish procedural "The Homicide Unit" and the Icelandic psychological mystery "Fjord." Both projects put established regional stars at the center of complex investigations, reinforcing the company's core focus on premium Scandinavian drama while advancing its broader cross-border distribution plans.

Swedish Procedural 'The Homicide Unit' Targets 2027 Debut
Produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) Sweden, "The Homicide Unit" ("Riksmord") is an eight-part series created by Gunnar A. K. Järvstad. The storyline takes inspiration from Sweden's real-life mobile elite squad tasked with traveling across the country to assist local authorities in resolving demanding murder investigations.

Veteran Swedish actress Pernilla August, known internationally for "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" and "Blackwater," leads the cast as investigative chief Ib. The ensemble supporting her unit features Jonas Karlsson, Alexander Abdallah, and Nina Zanjani. The narrative backdrop spans Sweden's vast inland forests to its open coastline.
Co-produced by streaming platform SkyShowtime alongside Swedish broadcaster TV4, the production also received regional support from Film i Skåne, Film i Dalarna, and Filmpool Nord. The procedural is scheduled to make its official premiere in March 2027.
Atmospheric Icelandic Mystery 'Fjord' Explores Insular Community Secrets
In contrast to the expansive geography of Sweden's mobile police team, "Fjord" delivers a concentrated, six-episode thriller framed by the dramatic environment of Northern Iceland. Presented in both English and Icelandic, the series was co-created by its lead star Anita Briem alongside writer-director Constantine Paraskevopoulos.
Briem portrays Ranna, an art dealer who returns to Iceland with her fiancé Sveinn, played by Pääru Oja, following the shuttering of their gallery venture in London. While struggling to adapt to the insular setting, Ranna launches a podcast focused on the decade-old mystery of a missing choir instructor, ultimately digging up long-buried community secrets alongside her own personal truths.
Paraskevopoulos noted that the drama emphasizes the psychological tension of tight-knit spaces rather than outright physical peril, emphasizing that the true conflict stems from living among people bound by long histories and high stakes. The show was produced by Guðný Guðjónsdóttir and Sara Djeddou Baldursdóttir through Projects alongside Belgian company Lunanime for domestic service Síminn, with an air date scheduled for later this year.
Reinvent Yellow's Strategic Mipcom Lineup
Helene Aurø, chief sales officer in charge of marketing at Reinvent Yellow Sales, emphasized that the two projects highlight the storytelling depth and international appeal of contemporary Nordic talent. The sales company itself was formed following the merger of Yellow Film Studios and REinvent one year ago, aiming to anchor its identity in regional strengths while gradually developing English-language output.
Beyond "The Homicide Unit" and "Fjord," the distributor's Mipcom roster features "Nora Sand: Devil's Plan," the third adaptation derived from Lone Theil's book series by creators Arne Berggren and Kristine Berg. The package also includes Finnish productions "Helsinki Tallinn," "The Truth," and "Port Poison" from partner Yellow Film & TV, Prime Video's Danish production "Snake Killer" starring Pilou Asbæk, and TV2 Norway's "Sogn Murders" starring Kristofer Hivju.
Looking ahead to market presentations, Reinvent Yellow is positioning these titles to meet selective global buyer demand, where crime, survival, and thriller concepts continue to hold high interest among international networks and digital platforms.
