Sunday Night Football closes out Week 8 tonight with an NFC East showdown: the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. Both teams arrive desperate for a win. The Eagles are 2-5 and on a five-game losing streak, their worst run in a decade, and they are playing without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is out after the team confirmed a blood-clot diagnosis in October. The Commanders are 1-4-1 and are favoured by around five and a half points at home, with score predictions from US outlets leaning their way — 27-17 and 24-21 in two published projections. Those are predictions, not results, and a prime-time divisional game rarely follows the script.
