Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for Jumanji: Open World, and the game is no longer contained. This time the adventure breaks out of the console and into the real world, and a dangerous creature escapes the game, triggering a quest to put it back.
The trailer opens with the familiar Jumanji drumbeat, before cutting to the game world where the four players — played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan — return to their avatars. The new footage shows the team navigating a new, larger world, with the game now able to change the rules in real time.
Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan all return, alongside Nick Jonas and Awkwafina. New faces joining the cast include Lamorne Morris, Danny McBride, and Danny DeVito. The film is directed by Jake Kasdan, who returns after helming the previous two films in the franchise.
Jumanji: Open World arrives in cinemas on 25 December 2026, a Christmas Day release that puts it squarely in the festive season. King opens a day earlier, on 24 December. For family audiences, it is a rare December tentpole built to play across the holidays.
