Norman Reedus has shared the trailer for his new horror film Pendulum, timing the reveal to the eve of a major anniversary for the show that made him a star. Reedus posted the preview on October 30, one day before the 16th anniversary of The Walking Dead, which premiered on Halloween in 2010.

Pendulum arrives in theatres on January 1, 2027, making it one of the first major horror releases of the new year. The film is set at a new-age retreat deep in the New Mexico wilderness, where a couple arrive hoping to heal from an unknown traumatic event in their past — only for the retreat, and their past, to turn on them.

Reedus stars alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor and Jacki Weaver. Mark Heyman directed the film; Heyman previously wrote Black Swan. The trailer leans hard into the retreat setting, with the story turning unsettling as the couple’s past catches up with them.

The Halloween timing is no accident: Reedus joined The Walking Dead in its third episode, “Tell It to the Frogs,” and went on to become one of the franchise’s defining faces. Dropping a horror trailer on the show’s anniversary weekend is a neat nod to the fans who have followed him since, and a fitting watch for a Halloween weekend when horror is everywhere.

Reedus will also appear in a new Apple TV spy thriller, Disavowed, in 2027, while The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 arrives on AMC about a month after Pendulum opens.
