Active Conversations with Marvel Leadership

During his appearance on the podcast, Pratt highlighted the close relationship he maintains with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Co-President Louis D'Esposito. He noted that the creative leadership is intentionally working toward executing Star-Lord's narrative continuation.

"I have a great relationship with Kevin and Lou, and there have been both ongoing conversations about how we make good on that promise and also hard action taken to make sure that we make good on that promise," Pratt stated. He further confirmed that while his reappearance is guaranteed, scheduling details remain confidential, saying, "So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere."

Pitching Visions for Future Storytelling

Pratt's latest remarks follow comments he shared earlier on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast regarding his proactive approach to shaping Star-Lord's future. During that previous appearance, he confirmed presenting a specific narrative direction directly to Feige.

Pratt detailed that he was eager to support Marvel's long-range narrative plans while pitching a creative path he felt strongly about. He stated at the time that he was ready to assist the studio in laying out its next decade of stories and expressed high enthusiasm for his proposed concepts.

Star-Lord's Cinematic Journey So Far

Peter Quill has remained a core fixture across the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his debut, appearing in six feature films to date. The character was introduced in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and returned for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," followed by significant appearances in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame."

Pratt then made an appearance in "Thor: Love and Thunder" before headlining "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." At the close of that third ensemble adventure, an end-credits title card explicitly told moviegoers that the legendary Star-Lord would return, providing the formal promise that Pratt and the studio are now working to fulfill.

Upcoming Marvel Slate Context

While Pratt has not disclosed the exact project that will stage Star-Lord's next appearance, Marvel Studios continues to assemble its upcoming slate. The franchise's next theatrical installment, "Avengers: Doomsday," is scheduled to debut on December 18.
