PGA Tour Studios has appointed sports media veteran Brian Gordon as its new executive producer and head of live content. The hiring highlights the golf organization's ongoing push to strengthen internal oversight and command over its broadcast operations and live programming. Gordon officially stepped into the executive position on October 26, reporting to Luis Goicouria, who serves as executive vice president and general manager of PGA Tour Studios.

In his leadership role, Gordon oversees the editorial vision and creative production across the studio's live portfolio. This encompasses more than 4,000 hours of live output, including PGA Tour Live distributed via the ESPN App, alongside broadcast coverage for PGA Tour Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour. His responsibilities also involve guiding programming initiatives such as "Quiet Please" and the DraftKings-presented "Betcast."
Leadership and Strategic Vision at PGA Tour Studios
Gordon will collaborate directly with Ryan Holcomb, who joined the organization in the preceding month as senior vice president and head of original content. Together, the two executives are positioned to steer the studio's dual expansion across unscripted original productions and live tournament feeds.
Speaking on the appointment, Goicouria emphasized that live tournament action remains the central vehicle through which golf audiences interact with the sport. He noted that Gordon’s broadcast background and focus on technical innovation will play a pivotal role in refining the organization's broadcast presentation, with the ultimate objective of bridging the gap between fans, players, and the course.
For his part, Gordon remarked that professional golf offers compelling sporting drama and pointed out that live presentation is key to shaping spectator perception. He shared his intention to build upon the tour's current operational framework through enhanced storytelling techniques and upgraded production execution.
Extensive Broadcast Background Across Major Sports Properties
Gordon enters the role with more than 30 years of professional experience across sports media, broadcasting, and content production. Immediately prior to joining PGA Tour Studios, he served at Motorsport Network as the global head of programming and audience. In that capacity, he directed an international team in handling daily video, editorial, and social assets across varied digital properties.
His administrative background also includes a key tenure as senior vice president and executive producer for the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). While with the NWSL, Gordon managed production logistics for upwards of 300 live matches across local, national, and international distribution pipelines, while overseeing working relationships with major broadcast partners such as CBS, ESPN, and Prime Video. During his time with the league, he also served as an executive producer on Prime Video's docuseries, "For the Win: NWSL."
Earlier in his sports television career, Gordon accumulated production experience across prominent entities including NBC Sports, ABC Sports, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions, and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
Looking Forward to Broadcast Expansions in 2027
Gordon’s arrival comes amid a notable expansion of the PGA Tour's live production blueprint. In 2026, the tour broadened PGA Tour Live coverage across linear ESPN networks for major events, including The Sentry and the season-ending FedExCup Playoffs.
As PGA Tour Studios readies its technical and operational strategy for 2027 and subsequent seasons, Gordon’s leadership will focus on integrating these broadcast updates, scaling multi-platform distribution, and maintaining television quality across all sanctioned tour competitions.
