Kareena Kapoor has confirmed she is part of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film King, ending days of speculation with a birthday post for the superstar on 2 November. Sharing a monochrome silhouette of herself with Shah Rukh Khan, apparently from a dance sequence, Kareena wrote: "Happy Birthday King. The forever Ruler of the kingdom. Let's dance together... Can't wait 24-12-26."
The post, reported by Cinema Express and India TV News on 2 November, marks the pair's first film together since Ra.One in 2011. Gauri Khan, the film's producer and Shah Rukh Khan's wife, replied enthusiastically to the post, adding to the excitement among fans.
According to reports, Kareena Kapoor features in a special song in King, with other Bollywood stars also expected to appear in the sequence. The glimpse she shared does not reveal the full look, but the silhouette, dramatic lighting and dance pose were enough to set social media alight on Shah Rukh Khan's 61st birthday.
King: what we know so far
King, directed by Siddharth Anand, is Shah Rukh Khan's first film in three years since Dunki (2023). The film arrives in cinemas on 24 December 2026, and its promotional campaign kicked off on the star's birthday with giant posters outside his Mumbai home, Mannat, and the release of its first song.
That song, "Tu Mil Jaaye", pairs Shah Rukh Khan with Deepika Padukone and features vocals by Arijit Singh. As reported in our birthday report on the song's release, it opens with Shah Rukh Khan delivering the line "Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon" before building into a romantic number.

Why the reunion matters
Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor have shared the screen in several major films, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., Asoka and Ra.One. A reunion after 15 years, even in a special sequence, is a significant draw for the film's Christmas release. It also adds another talking point on a day already dominated by the birthday celebrations.
Fans had already gathered outside Mannat on 2 November, and as reported in our follow-up on the birthday, Shah Rukh Khan skipped his traditional balcony appearance this year, instead sending fans a handwritten note.
