She spent much of her upbringing in Visalia, California, before the family settled in the Los Angeles area, where she attended Redondo Union High School. Her father is of Mexican descent and served in the US Marine Corps, while her mother is an Australian hairstylist.
Career
Navarrette began acting in 2018 and built her name on television, first in the Snapchat series Denton’s Death Date and then as Estela de la Cruz in the fourth season of 13 Reasons Why. Her breakthrough television role came as Sarah Cushing in The CW’s Superman & Lois, where she was a main cast member across 47 episodes from 2021 to 2024.
Her film breakthrough arrived with Obsession, in which she plays Nikki Freeman, a young woman whose admirer uses a wish-granting willow tree to make her fall for him — with dangerous consequences. The micro-budget horror premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025 before its US theatrical release in May 2026, going on to gross more than $300 million worldwide and turning Navarrette into one of the year’s breakout stars. Her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live’s Halloween episode on October 31, 2026, confirmed her arrival as a mainstream name, and she is set to play Rogue in Marvel’s X-Men film, planned for 2028.
