Renowned celebrity fashion stylist Law Roach has set his sights on a potential new creative path, expressing a strong desire to transition into acting if the right project comes his way. Speaking publicly at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards, the fashion icon revealed that he is eager to explore the craft on screen, even if the creative experiment carries the possibility of failure.

Roach, widely recognized for curating iconic red carpet looks for high-profile clients including Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, and Celine Dion, noted that he is "absolutely" ready to step in front of the narrative camera. The fashion architect stated that he is keeping an open mind for whenever an opportunity presents itself through a filmmaker who envisions a role tailored to his abilities.

Embracing New Creative Challenges on Screen

During his appearance on the awards red carpet, Roach detailed his philosophy when it comes to trying new artistic pursuits, stating that his primary goal is to remain daring. "When a director sees something for me," Roach explained, "I want to try everything. If I’m terrible at it, at least I tried."

Given his proximity to some of the industry's most acclaimed performers throughout his styling career, Roach was asked whether his relationships with A-list actors might provide him with acting mentorship. Roach dismissed the comparison with a humorous perspective on his limits, pointing out that proximity does not dictate every creative ambition. "I’ve also worked with some of the greatest singers of all time, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to try to sing," Roach quipped.

Transition From Reality Television to Narrative Cameos

While Roach is now actively eyeing substantial acting opportunities, he is not entirely new to the camera. His media background features appearances on prominent competitive reality programs, having previously served on judging panels for shows such as "Legendary," "America’s Next Top Model," "Project Runway," and "RuPaul’s Drag Race."

In addition to reality programming, Roach has already taken early steps into scripted entertainment by playing himself in select projects. His recent credits include cameo appearances in the sequel feature "The Devil Wears Prada 2" and the Kate Hudson-led Netflix comedy series "Running Point." Stepping fully into scripted character roles would mark the next evolution beyond making self-referential cameo appearances.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas Discusses Comedy Ensemble Work

Roach was not the only talent discussing major screen projects at the InStyle Imagemaker event. Fellow honoree and occasional Roach styling client Priyanka Chopra Jonas also spoke on the carpet, sharing details regarding her upcoming work in "Judgment Day," an Amazon MGM Studios comedy directed by Nicholas Stoller.

The feature reunites Chopra Jonas with her former "Baywatch" co-star Zac Efron, alongside a cast featuring Will Ferrell, Regina Hall, and Fortune Feimster. The plot centers on a recently released prison inmate, portrayed by Efron, who takes a television courtroom judge along with his production crew hostage. Additional cast members for the comedy include Michael Peña, Billy Eichner, Jimmy Tatro, Heidi Gardner, Bobby Cannavale, and Bill Camp.

Chopra Jonas noted that the comedy project presented a fresh dynamic compared to her typical dramatic background. Reflecting on her experience watching seasoned comedians perform on set, she remarked on how rarely she broke character despite the comedic environment. She admitted to breaking composure only a couple of times, specifically during scenes alongside Ferrell and Hall, highlighting the distinct skill required to work comfortably within an ensemble comedy cast.

Looking Forward in Entertainment

Roach’s stated interest in acting adds another dimension to his expansive profile in popular culture, which has already grown from personal fashion styling to production, judging, and cameo screen appearances. Whether Hollywood directors extend narrative roles to the stylist remains dependent on future casting developments and his continued foray into film and television projects.
