In-Person Discussion for Netflix Drama 'Gentle Monster'

A centerpiece of the programming includes an in-person appearance by Seydoux alongside Austrian filmmaker Marie Kreutzer. The duo will participate in a live Q&A session following the screening of their collaborative Netflix project, "Gentle Monster," at the Aero Theatre on Friday, November 13.

The free screening, organized for American Cinematheque members, introduces audiences to a narrative centered on Lucy, an accomplished pianist played by Seydoux. The film follows Lucy's attempts to establish a fresh start with her family in the countryside, only for her life to be upended when a police investigation uncovers that her partner is involved in a network producing child sexual abuse materials.

Screening Schedule and Venue Locations

The American Cinematheque has established a legacy of championing film culture since its founding in 1985, presenting more than 2,000 films each year. Seydoux joins a roster of prominent talents recognized by the institution, following similar retrospective programs held the previous year for actors Timothée Chalamet and Michael B. Jordan.

The retrospective opens on November 12 at the Los Feliz 3 theater with "One Fine Morning," followed by the "Gentle Monster" presentation at the Aero Theatre the next evening. Screenings then shift to the historic Egyptian Theatre on Saturday, November 14, for "Blue is the Warmest Color," before concluding at the Los Feliz 3 on Sunday, November 15, with Bonello’s "The Beast."

Looking Forward to the November Screenings

Tickets for all scheduled screenings throughout the four-day event have been made available via the American Cinematheque website. The retrospective offers Los Angeles audiences a focused examination of Seydoux's versatility across multiple languages and genres as the fall film season gets underway.
